OBJECTIVES OF THE BASIC EDUCATION

The department aims to set the foundation towards integral Christian Formation wherein each student is expected to:
1. be aware of oneself appreciate other, respectful of the worth and dignity of persons especially the women and the children;
2. initiate a life of prayer and worship through liturgical services that will lead him/her to the fullness of Christian living;
3. develop a genuine concern for the poor through exposure and outreach activities;
4. be equipped with the necessary: intellectual skills for academic excellence to enable him/her to think critically and make wise decisions, physical skills for creative and independent work
5. work for the preservation of life and respect for property as well as the conservation of Mother Earth;
6. uphold the Filipino heritage and the dignity of labor in the preparation for a productive contribution to a developing nation;
7. become instrument in transmitting the message of peace, justice, and freedom;
8. seek the truth and internalize gospel values and attitudes and manifest these in his/her relationship with others.

CHRISTIAN FORMATION

• PRAYER SERVICE
o Morning Praise / Daily Prayer
 Grade 1 and HS join the Communal Morning Praise every Monday at 7:30 a.m. at the gym
 Opening and closing prayers in the classroom every change of period
 Angelus is prayed at midday.
 Students are encouraged to visit the Blessed Sacrament.
o Liturgical Celebration and Reception of the Sacraments
 HS attends Holy Mass every Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at the school chapel.
 A day for recollection and Confession of the HS
 HS students are prepared for their Confirmation in December.
 Marian Feast / Rosary Month / Seasons of Advent and Lent
 Feastday Celebrations for St. Benedict and St. Scholastica

SCHOOL POLICIES

GENERAL POLICIES

1. The rules and regulations of the SSCT Basic Education are intended to enhance the life in school of a Scholastican as he/she relates and interacts with the members of the school community.
2. The enrolment of pupil/student in the SSCT Basic Education is taken as an expressed willingness on his/her part and consequently his/her parents and/or guardians to abide all the rules and regulations of the school. Thus the student/pupil and his/her parents and/or guardians are committed to the strict observation of the rules and regulations.
3. The SSCT Basic Education reserves the right to admit, re-admit, refuse or dismiss a pupil/student on the basis of his/her academic and/or conduct performance and attendance.
4. The SSCT Basic Education asserts in the exercise of “loco parentis.” This means that the school undertakes the formation of the pupils/students in the expression of parental care and concern.
5. Pupils/students, either as individuals or as a group, must not use the name of the school, nor the seal of the school, without official authorization.
6. Pupils may be called out of the classroom by means of the Call Slip. Only the following administrators issue the Call Slip: Principal, Guidance Counselors.
7. As a Catholic school, with Religious Formation as the core of the curriculum, the SSCT Basic Education requires the pupils/students to attend and participate actively in liturgical and spiritual exercises scheduled during the school year.
8. Pupils/students may not be affiliated with organizations whose objectives and/or activities are contrary to the school’s philosophy and objectives.
9. Pupils/students must be responsible for all their belongings at all times, which should be properly labeled. The school therefore is not held responsible for any lost item in the school premises.
10. Pupils must come to school with complete requirements for the school day.
11. To further develop responsibility among our pupils/students, parents and other persons are not allowed to bring any items for them or ask any school personnel to do the same during class hours. This includes assignments or projects forgotten at home.
